Major periodic inspections

Vehicle-loading cranes have a working life and a set of periodic inspection requirements that come with owning and operating lifting equipment. A major periodic inspection (often referred to as the 10-year inspection) is a significant, in-depth assessment of the crane’s condition and remaining service life. It is exactly the kind of detailed work our workshop is built for, drawing on our engineering, structural and hydraulic capability.

Workshop or on-site

Depending on the equipment and the nature of the inspection, we can carry out inspections at our Forrestdale workshop or in the field. For fleets operating away from Perth, we coordinate inspection support through our mobile technicians and national service network.

How often should a vehicle loading crane be inspected?

Inspection intervals depend on the crane, how it is used and the relevant requirements for your equipment. Routine inspections happen regularly as part of servicing, with more in-depth periodic inspections at set milestones. If you tell us your crane model and its history, we can help you understand what is due.

What is a 10-year crane inspection?

It is a major periodic inspection: a thorough, in-depth assessment of a crane’s structural, mechanical, hydraulic and electrical condition and its remaining service life, carried out at a significant milestone in the equipments working life. Our workshop capability is well suited to this kind of detailed work.

Can you inspect cranes from any manufacturer?

Yes. Our inspection capability, like our service and repair work, is all-makes, alongside our Palfinger experience.

What happens if the inspection finds a problem?

You get a clear account of what we found and a practical recommendation. Because we also service, repair and refurbish cranes in-house, we can carry out any follow-up work rather than sending you elsewhere.

Do you do inspections on-site?

Depending on the equipment and location, yes. We inspect at our Forrestdale workshop or in the field, and coordinate on-site inspections across Australia through our service network.
